Support Team!

Don’t sing or dance? We’d still love to have you!

We have a section for the chorus called Support. Support members help with operations and tasks during our weekly rehearsals and at events, community engagements, and concerts. We also have volunteers that just help at special events. Please complete the form to share that you are interested in joining our support team!

Singer Auditions

Dancer Auditions

What do I need to prepare and what can I expect?

Prepare 16 measures or about 30 seconds of music that you feel shows off your voice well. This can be any style or genre of music; this should be something you are comfortable with and you feel represents you well.

What does the audition consist of?

The word “audition” sounds a little scary but there’s no need to be nervous! We’re not looking for the next Streisand or Sinatra, just solid voices to add to our sections. The auditions will consist of the following;

  • Sing your prepared selection so we can hear your talent.

  • We’ll have you vocalize to test your vocal range and quality.

  • Musicianship. We will test your ability to read music or follow.

  • A quick chat to ask some questions and get to know you!

Can’t sing? No Problem! The Orlando Gay Chorus is always looking for dancers! Dancers are expected to perform in multiple numbers with the chorus at its twice annual concerts (required) and also at community outreaches throughout the year (as dancer availability permits). Professional (paid) experience is not required. These are volunteer positions. The OGC family is ready to welcome some fabulous dancers into the family; we hope to see YOU at auditions!

What do I need to prepare and what can I expect?

Prepare about 30 seconds of choreography that you feel shows off your strongest dance style. This can be any style or genre of dance; this should be something you are comfortable with and you feel represents you well.

What does the audition consist of?

  • Perform your prepared choreography.

  • A quick to chat to ask some questions and get to know you!

WHEN WILL I KNOW THE RESULTS OF MY AUDITION?

You’ll be notified of the results after all of the auditions are complete. If you’re accepted into Orlando Gay Chorus as a singing, or dancing, member you’ll be welcomed at the first rehearsal, introduced to your Section Leader (or the OGC choreographer) and the entire chorus membership. If you are not selected as a member, we still encourage you to join our support staff, or our committees which aid in several facets of the chorus including public relations, fundraising, and membership.
